I was born and raised in Los Angeles, to Central American parents. Growing up in a very large and diverse environment has been instrumental in my career over the last 18 years. I began volunteering as a teenager in 1992 at a homeless shelter and knew this was my path, to help people. I have been privileged to have worked with victims of abuse, mental health, homelessness, addiction, etc. Since moving to Fort Bragg in 2015, I have advocated for underserved populations and I’m so pleased to have joined the team at West Center. I’m excited about my role as the Latinx Outreach Coordinator and look forward to working with the community in a whole new and exciting way. My goal is to bring awareness and resources to our Latino owned small businesses.

Cat Garcia originalmente es de Los Ãngeles, CA de padres Centro Americanos. Crecer en un entorno muy grande y diverso ha sido fundamental en su carrera durante los últimos 18 años. Comencé a trabajar como voluntario cuando era adolescente en 1992 en un refugio para personas sin hogar y sabÃa que este era mi camino, ayudar a las personas. He tenido el privilegio de haber trabajado con vÃctimas de abuso, salud mental, personas sin hogar, adicciones, etc. Desde que me mudé a Fort Bragg en 2015, he abogado por las poblaciones desatendidas y estoy muy contenta de haberme unido al equipo de West Center. Estoy entusiasmada con mi tÃtulo como Coordinadora de Alcance de Latinx y espero trabajar con la comunidad de una manera completamente nueva y emocionante. Mi objetivo es crear conciencia y generar recursos para nuestras pequeñas empresas latinas.
