The no-cost Fundando mis Sueños training program was developed by West Center to educate and support Latino-owned business start-ups by providing access to grants of $5,000 and $10,000 to successful graduates. The program is targeted at mono- or bi-lingual Spanish speaking pre-venture entrepreneurs.
The Zoom-based course consisted of ten 90-minute lessons taught by Prof. Eddie Landeros-Santana from the School of Business and Technology at Southwestern Community College. Topics of instruction included business plan design, principles of marketing, accounting, operations, human resource planning among other essential business practices. Professor Landeros led each session, which was recorded, and is now the curriculum for our Fundando mis Sueños On-Demand online course.
West Center was thrilled to lead 19 participants through the course of study starting on August 3 and lasting for 10 weeks. The students’ hard work paid off with a graduation event at Cesar Toxqui Cellars in Redwood Valley on Friday October 7. The beautiful evening was more than matched by the enthusiasm and joy as the graduates each spoke about their experiences.
