Even in the face of the pandemic, residents of Mendocino County have a couple more things to worry about: the onset of fire season and the potential for Public Safety Power Shutoffs. Indeed, the current fires in the north of the county and to the south of us, are a stark reminder of how rapidly the situation can change. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, more than 40% of businesses never reopen after a natural disaster. Following the wildfires in Lake and Mendocino Counties over the past few years, West Business Development Center learned a great deal about the importance of businesses being prepared for a disaster.
